I purchased a 2003 yz85 not long ago as a project , well the needle bearing on the rod came apart on first start up once I got the bike home and destroyed almost everything , I did a full rebuild on it and now I have gotten the bike almost completely back together and realized the clutch arm on the engine has no tension on it I can literally move it with my hand back and forth , with the cable hooked to it it’s like there is nothing hooked up. I went back in and confirmed that the ball bearing was installed and that the pressure plate was installed correctly as I know it has to be installed a certain way. I also inspected the clutch fibers and the basket for wear and the basket has minimal wear. Any ideas to what may be wrong ?

I have a 2015 Yz 85 and I was having the same problem my clutch wasn’t engaging so I put two ball bearings in and it engaged however the push rod was sticking out to far and I couldn’t get the cover or clutch hub on so I had to shave down the push rod and now it feels fine
