I picked up my new MY23 Yamaha XMax 300 a few weeks ago. I've connected Y-Connect and the Garmin Streetcross apps via Bluetooth to my iPhone SE2 with no problems whatsoever, but the weather forecast on the scooter's display doesn't want to work. Any advice on how to fix this would be most welcome. I'm assuming it's something dumb like a privacy setting on the phone (but I've tried all combinations I can think of).

It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but having everything working would be nice. 🙏

Hey xmin from a '22 XMAX owner (non-TFT). I have a '22 BMW RT with a TFT and TomTom mapping from a phone. It works maybe 50% of the time (Android). When I first heard of the new TFT on the '23 XMAX I was curious on how well it works. The BMW TFT mapping has been a real headache and mine is in the shop for new firmware. I'm curious what you find out, but I noticed you haven't received any replies yet.....

Hi there. The Garmin satnav feature works well and so far is the most reliable connectivity feature. The Y-Connect app can be a bit flakey. It is supposed to log all your rides, but the phone app spat the dummy on me this week, logged itself out, and lost all my ride logs. Also not showing fuel consumption on the phone app. Y-Connect is working again after logging back in (but everything reset). Weather connectivity still isn't working.

To be honest the Y-Connect stuff is non-essential, but I really like the Garmin satnav for city riding. Phone gets pretty warm in its cubby though.

Well, the weather feature has somehow magically fixed itself. I have no explanation. The app hasn’t been updated for 2 mths and I haven’t changed anything else on the phone or scooter. Ghosts in the machines I guess. 🤷‍♂️

The BMW app/TFT on my '22 RT is doing the same thing! But now, it's permanently offline and broken. Doesn't work with a new phone, either. The bike is in the shop for a firmware update.

BTW, I really like my XMAX. The OEM ScooterSmart Dunlop rear is at the wear bars (3500 miles). I'm replacing both tires tomorrow with City Grip 2s. I'm a huge fan of Michelin Road 5/6 and these scooter tires look simular.

Yes the connectivity/infotainment stuff these days can be frustrating. Unfortunately it seems like the direction we're all heading in future. As long as the rest of the vehicle works without it, and I didn't have to pay a premium or subscription, I'm happy(ish).
