Hello. First time on this site. My name is Mike and I just bought a 1987 Yamaha FZ700. I have not owned a bike for 30 years. This bike has not been on the road since 2011 per the license plate. It has been in a metal storage shed for over three years. I got it running but the clutch lever has no resistance. The rear break pedal does not have any resistance either. I really don’t know where to start with the clutch but I think I may be able to get the rear brake to work but not that confident. I could really use some help. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Get a manual so that You can find out how to diagnose the problem. I have four Yamahas and a Suzuki VZ 800 and have been riding and working on motorcycles for over 55 years and have never taken one to a shop. The clutch is usually an easy task.
