Harris R7 Build
 

Seen quite a lot of trolling in the YZF-R7 forum, so here's a few updates. :)

Probably another 12 months worth of building to go, but making steady progress.

Harris R7 chassis and arm
2002 R1 FI motor with YEC bits
FG267 Ohlins kit forks, ex-Stobart Honda
CBR-1000RR Ohlins TTX shock
Akrapovic Ti Evo
Ladybird Ti can
Bora radiator
Brembo monoblocs, four piston rear, rotors
Marchesini wheels
Dynomite carbon tail
M400 MoTec with loom and sensors
AIM Strata dash
Hand-made YZR-M1 triples

And lots more to come. Going to run Sebimoto carbon bodywork, R7 dual-filler tank (being repaired by Joe Abbote), and Bridgestone rubber.

Sure miss the old Motomummy/Sportbikeforum gang.

I've noticed a bit of activity in here....seems YFN comes up when doing a search for R7 stuff....wonder why. lol

It's going to be a slooooow build, Rhett. Started almost a year ago. Trying to be patient and not break the bank. :hammer

where did you get the frame/swing arm? how much :money

Purchased privately. As you found out, Harris no longer makes this frame. They still make the arm, but not the frame. Watch ebay....they pop up from time to time.

Sweet! a contingency plan when disaster strikes, might work well on a 98 too.........and subscribed!!

Is there a YZF-R7 forum? I cant find it, unless it's the R7 section of another forum?

I can't seem to find that forum.

I have read your R7/1 build and that is a great read and info. So I'm eager to check out the progress on the Harris framed R7/1

Finally have the finances to start a project of my own (or just purchase an R7). either an R7/1 or an RGV500 are my final choices. Depending what major components I find first I suppose like frame and engine.

Like many here, I believe it (the R7) to be one of the finest bikes ever made.

You did a very nice job putting yours together, It would great to have results like that.

Just putting a 1000 motor in my YZF 750 is not worth the effort for me. I NEED an R7 or a gp replica to put a smile on my face ;?)

The R7 forum I'm referring to is here. Because of the number of R7 references on this forum, seems to draw people looking for information about the R7. No worries, it's nice to see the discussion.

Harris build has come a LONG way, but haven't posted pictures lately. Might post a few soon.

I can tell you that finding parts to build an R7 is becoming harder and harder. Seen several for sale in recent months, where are you located? I'll let you know when I see bikes for sale.

Only result that matters is happiness. Either way, must be happy with your build! Need any help with contacts or information, please let me know.

How is it that you keep building my dream bike?

That looks nice, Hope to hear some performance specs to go along with the pics.

Carbon fibre, ohlins everywhere, huge rad, I'm impressed. Is the engine stock? oh yes "YEC bits".

Well my fortune has changed and it looks like my lowly YZF 750 will be getting upgraded. My 8 year old boy wants a dirt bike as well. He is tired if his quad150. He got to ride a 100cc yamaha mx at the local bike show so now he is hooked too.

Some unexpected things have become a priority over building a bike.

Still, I will be eagerly watching this thread!
