FJ 1100, revisited..

I just posted a question about owners with FJs from the last century in the General area of this forum. I own an 85 FJ 1100 and was wondering if there were others on this site to communicate with?

Thanks,
Ken

Both groups are very active.

I currently have the Deanabago (93 FJ1200) in a million or so pieces in the garage.

Bpro,

Thanks for the tip on the FJowners forum, I hope it will be a good site for info. As R1 stated, the last two bikes in my collection are not anywhere near new and possibly older than many members on this forum. Thanks again.

Bpro,

The FJowners.com forum is an excellent site for the "old and small" FJs. They seem to be damn near bulletproof, if not a bit scarce. Doesn't everyone keep most of their bikes? Thanks again for the beta.

Never owned one. Couple friends had them, I was on my 85 900 ninja at the time(85-86).
You should post up some pics!

1985 fj1100

I'm having some charging problems and can't figure it out. So three weeks ago I was riding my 85 fj 1100 and the clutch slave started leaking and felt funny then went completely out tryed riding it the rest of the way home by just up shifting and down shift without the clutch then all of a sudden it started acting weird not running right then guit running and was dead no lights no nothing so last week finally got the clutch issues figured out and charged the battery and fired right up then I went on a test ride and once it gets really warm it starts the running weird stuff again and dies and the battery is dead charge it it runs fine then I notice a power wire beside the battery is bare and could possibly be grounding out and not letting the battery recharge then not powering the coils enough to stay running so I fix that wire and the running weird and back firing stops but when I shut the bike off then try to start it back up its dead again what could have happened? Is it possible the stator is out or a bad fuse I don't know I'm lost some one please help
