when you change elevations... like going from sea level to 6000 ft.... and only if it's not temporary.

Two Strokes are really finicky with any change inside them or around them.
Any major climate change. elevation,
high-less oxygen engine will run richer, drop jet size
Low-more oxygen, run leaner, raise jet size
Temperature
Colder- air is more dense, run leaner, raise jet size
warmer-air is less dense, run richer, drop jet size
if you are running a filter fitted directly on the carb you might want to go up one jet size.
Any pipe change you will want to get the jetting kit with the pipe
boring out the cylinder or any port work would require more fuel.
Advanced timing, more backpressure in the pipe will build more heat in the engine. the richer the engine is the cooler it will run and the leaner the hotter. However if you run too rich you arent getting full power out of the engine. too lean and you will have full power for a short time before it overheats and begins losing power and eventually, sad but true, squeak!

Blue makes it true!
If its Fast and Drinks Gas, Like it!
