My 98 xv1100 keeps stalling
I'll apologize in advance if this has been addressed earlier, but I've searched and not found what I'm looking for. My 98 xv1100 keeps stalling when I try to ride. I thought it was the fuel, drained the fuel, replaced w/ premium + Seafoam, found some small bits of rubber debris in the sub tank. Replaced the fuel filter (which looked fine)
Now the bike stalls when the trans is engaged. Checked the kickstand switch, found infinity ohms kickstand down, 36 ohms kickstand up. Bypassed switch, no longer fails when trans is engaged.
Now the bike keeps stalling when I release the clutch. Bike will start fine, idles fine, but once the trans is engaged and the throtle is beginning to be released, the bike dies. Anyone have any experience with this? Could the clutch switch be responsible? I don't know what the clutch switch does. Any advice is welcome. Thanks for your time.
