I was instructed to send a document as a "Word document"
I sent it as a .docx file saved it with microsoft word 2007 it apparently now the default file extension.
I got a rude response that stating the instructions were explicit and the file was to be sent as a word document.

I could not be a complete smart ass and send them a link to microsoft's website that has a compatibility pack for updating 2003 to 2007 compatibility. instead I re-sent it as a .doc and now everything is fine except I look like a fool in the companies eyes.
I tested it at the house and at at a work computer three PC's opened the document no problem and just for kicks I used my mac to see if it would open the document and it friggin did no problem WTF.
is there some reason not to use ms word 2007?
Is there something I'm missing?
