the only advantage yamalube has is that it takes the guess work away. it may not be better than some of the oils out there, but it has at least the minimum of needed additives. in general if you find a motorcycle oil that meets the api and viscosity it is equal to or better than yamalube. its best to stay away from car oils in some cases they meet the requirements for your bike , but it is difficult to tell what additives are in a car oil . because most japanese motorcycles have wet clutches the additives needed could differ from that of car oils.
