Default YZF 750 Fuel Pump Replacement

You guys who had to replace yours, where'd you get it?

If you did a modification to use aftermarket, what did you use?

search some of the old posts as there has been a lot of discussion on this subject from time to time.

I recall someone who installed an external pump as teh bike does not care how the fuel gets to the carbs, it just has to be pumped because the tank is lower than the carbs.

I bought a new pump from Yamaha as i figured the old one lasted 17 years so it was worth the investment.

A tuner recommended a Facet pump similar to this-

But I can't remember what pressure he said i needed.

That's a good tip. I like the idea of just an external pump. Are you still in contact with the tuner, as in, can you get a recommendation for a YZF 750?

Can’t get hold of the tuner (he used to use them for Drag bike customers), so looking through the Workshop Manuel its listed as this:
Nippon Denso unit
Output pressure 20 kPa (0.2 kg/cm2 3 psi)
Power consumption 1 A max

Going by the web site, looks like this would fit the bill
http://www.fuelpumpsonline.co.uk/facet-solid-state-fuel-pump-road-40104-15-4psi-5-p.asp

Think I’d ring/email them to check though.
Don’t forget you’ll need fittings and a filter.

Hard to believe, but the local parts store here in FL had the Facel pump! I'll post how it works! Thanks again!!
