I had the oil light come on last night before a ride. When I shut the bike down to check it, the level was fine in the window. When I started it, the oil "dissapeared".

Question is, should the oill level be checked with the bike running, or not?

Do these bikes "use" oil?

I get NO smoke out of the pipes at all.

It has 8500 miles on it.
