Glad to find this site and hope to contribute as needed. Have a question, we have a '94 WaveRaider, this year it is running rough, and by rough i mean: hard to crank (shot of engine starter in it and it cranks right up, but without it, wont start) runs like a champ when your out on water and riding at a steady speed, but when you let off throttle it will immediately bog down and stall, if you run with the choke out about 1/4 to 1/3 out it runs and does not stall at all, but obviously that isnt running as smooth as it needs to. We changed the fuel filter, ran tank after tank of additive through fuel system, but still wont run smooth. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Gary

Gary, seems I'm a few months late, However sounds like you have a Pilot jet clogged. If choke is required that is your problem, choke closes air passage in carb throat & en-richens the fuel/air mixture. You don't have enough fuel trickling past the needle or pilot jet to stay running, it's probably got debris or fuel sediment clogging it. Fairly easy repair. After a quick inspection & perhaps carb overhaul/cleaning, a primer kit would be a useful addition to your ski for quick starts & very short crank cycles to start the ski. The primer kit injects fuel into the carb directly, avoiding wait times for the fuel system to prime itself...

Good luck.
