2001 yz 125, purchased recently, had a few probs starting her up, would catch then bog down after a 500 yd run,
clean plug and away again, stripped down carb twice, second time more thouroughly a bit of shite flew out of carb, put back together with correct plug and gap, started up and runs quite well, however fuel is pissin out of the overflow from carb, its not flooding plug just simply leaking out....lots

X2 - could also be a worn/dirty needle valve & seat.

Worst-case, check to make sure your tank is venting properly. It's an uncommon problem, but when tanks "air-lock" (due to a plugged vent line), it'll force fuel into carb when fuel in tank gets warm (expands), or prevent fuel from flowing when fuel is cool.

thx for response, i was in bike shop, Mickey Oates, Glasgow today and they kinda made similair comments about float etc, will have another go, let you know the outcome......
by the way our weather is really shit here in glasgow, helensburgh hope we get a decent rest of summer :-\
