my son just bought a 2005 250f and last week and his best friend got a 2007 450f cause my son weighs 140 and his buddie is 230,any way my son ,the scronny one can out ride goliath but that 450 gets him with all that speed,his 250 has a good clutch and a pretty nice procircut exhaust header and slipon,im wondering.im a quad guy mainly but work on this stuff every night,i could use some speeed ideas.id prefer not to open the engine right now cause the weather just got really good .i dont want to re-gear it because he rides in the woods alot too

You will be hard pressed to match theat power. Your son will have to ride w/ lots of technique to beat him.

that 250 should easly hang with the 450 in the woods if its real riding not nice simple sissy crap other wise the 450 can open up with the speed. my friend went from a 450 to a 250 his weight is 130 lbs and he now is "faster" because he can put the power down and move the bike around easyer. but thats all because he is short and light.

My 450 just has incredible amounts of power, just let him work on his technique so he can beat the guy on the 450. He can tell the other guy he needs to learn how to ride. lol
