Cypress, California - November 15, 2007 - Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S. is pleased to announce the details for the 2008 Jamie James Yamaha Champion’s Riding School (JJYCRS).

In April 2008 the Jamie James Yamaha Champions Riding School will hold the first of seven riding schools at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. With Jamie James at the helm, the school will focus on riding techniques that will benefit both the street rider and the seasoned racer. Backed by Yamaha Motor Corporation, students will experience the performance and quality of the Yamaha brand by choosing to ride their own Yamaha or a school provided YZF-R1, YZF-R6 or FZ-6 motorcycle.

All JJYCRS instructors are top notch, most of whom are current or previous racing champions. Riding education sessions will boast an average of seven instructors per class giving the school a student/instructor ratio of 4:1. As an added bonus, each class will feature a special guest instructor. Some of the guest instructors already committed to the 2008 schedule include Colin Edwards, Tom Kipp, Dave Sadowski and Thomas Stevens.

Lasting two days, the school will teach braking techniques, correct riding form, cornering, panic control, etc., all the while inspiring safety as the most important principle. Students can choose to use their own riding apparel and safety equipment or rent leathers, boots, gloves, and helmets from the school.

List of riding skilz learned at "Bogie's skule of Rye-ding":

1) Learn to signal left, turn right
2) Get that knee down and scuff the puck (without ever being on a bike)
3) For you stunta's, learn to endo and subsequently replace multiple bike parts

Get ready to spend a LOT of money. I joined the mailing list and they sent me a note saying hello and that the class will cost around $2000 for a two-day session. The cost is depending on what Barber will be charging the school in 2008, which isn't finalized yet.
