Hey everyone

Im new to the site and to the street bike side of motorcycles. Iv ridden dirt bikes all my life but picked up a 2009 fz6 the other day. Its an awesome bike but I like to hear the exhaust note and the stock silencers are way too quite for my taste. However the aftermarket slip ons are way out of my price range. How can I liven this thing up.. maybe remove the baffle? I don't wanna take all the back pressure away though. Has anyone removed the baffles and how did it sound?

I drilled the baffles on my '05. It didn't make a super huge difference -- just added a little volume and some throatiness to the sound. It's definitely not what you get by replacing the exhaust, but if you're looking for a quick and cheap way to change up the sound, it's definitely an option.
