: 1979 IT400f wiring !?

ok so i bought a 79 it400f motor. im putting it into a 2003 banshee frame i bought. im cant find any diagrams to wire this thing up any help would be much appreciated. thanks guys.

really no one can help at all? wouldnt the wiring be the same as a 79 yz400?

yes the wiring would be close to the yz400, but you have a lighting coil on the IT , you should get a oem yamaha manual that will have a schematic, as long as you have the cdi and the ignition coil from the IT , all you will need to do it is wire the lighting system and that is a regulator and the lights , pretty simple.

do you have the cdi unit and the ignition coil for the it400 motor you are using ? if you do tell us what you are trying to figure out. iam sure we can help

Should be simple. In 79, I'm guessing to early for cdi just an ign coil and alt and oil light wire. Probably to early for elec starter. You probably have to start from scratch to amtch the frame of the banshee. One wire at a time, use the plugs you have. Hope this helps.

nope 79 had a cdi , charge coil and pick-up in the bottom and ignition coil , real simple system , i wonder if he will post back and tell if he has those things .
