Hi guys, I thought my chain was rubbing on the chainguide, so I took it apart and found a load of gunk around chain guide and front sprocket. I have cleaned it all out, cleaned the chain and sprocket and then lubricated it all. I am still hearing a noise at the front sprocket. Is some noise inevitable or is my chain in need of replacing? The bike sat for approximately 12 months when I purchased it. I have done a minor service on it, new filter, oil plugs etc. Anything else I should check?

Check air filter too, then the brake fluids and pad wear. There is going to be some chain noise. There should be no slapping noise though. Replace chain when it links do not move smoothly and when the chain gets to tight b/t the spockets, and too loose in other parts. consult the manual too
