Need to put new tires on the front and rear. Any recommendations. Not a track bike. What's the widest rear that can be fitted on the bike with successful performance??

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've run a 190/55/17 a little more in weight than a 180/55 ? I personally added a little more pre load handling was ok

I recommend Continental Road Attacks if you are doing a lot of all around riding and not just the twisties, etc. Michelin Pilot Powers of course get thrown around a lot if you are doing more "sporty" riding, my personal favorite "sportier" tire is the Metzler M3.

Thanx, Eastern ND has no twisties what so ever. I have to ride about an hour or two into Minnesota to get any kind of fun roads.

I have been running Dunlops, but am not very satisfied with the front tire performance. I have tried several tire pressure combos and just do not feel comfortable wioth the grip I am getting. There is not much side tread left and I need to get it replaced this spring. The rear seems to have good cornering grip. I ran Metzlers quite a few years back, but on a much lighter bike.

No problem. Read this review, it'll help with your decision, atleast it did for me.
