thinking of purchasing a 2003 YAMAHA SXV70HL with 531 miles onit or a 01 srx 700 with 1100 miles on it,any difference in the two,HP/performance/etc all feed back helpfull thanks

go with the SRX

SRX is a 12.0 second 100+mph 1/4 mile jobby on snow, 150+hp It'll run down anything Yamaha make to this day.

The Viper is a parts bin solution to tide them over for another year, it's essentially a heavily de-tuned, less reliable SRX engine With the same suspension and longer shocks, the geometry doesn't work nearly as well. It's still probably a better riding sled, slightly, but inch for inch the SRX is a much better working suspension.

I do a lot of these engines, shit I've done 3 in the last 2 months, and always with a viper the first thing I do is pitch most of the stock stuff and replace it with SRX components, CDI, cylinder heads, cooling system, etc. Just for reliabilities sake, power aside.
