heres my 94 yzf 750, bought it in sept 09, rode it for a 1,000 miles before i tore in to it , took it down to the frame checked and repacked all rear suspension bearings , new tapered steering head bearings, galfer brake lines , rebuilt all the calipers and m/c, clutch slave cyl was leaking, opened up the engine even though it has 12,000 miles and it looked great , only one intake valve was tight , clutch looked great , so i put some barnett springs in it, installed factory pro shift kit that has the detent arm with the bearing, rebuilt water pump as it was seeping a little, replaced all the seals and gaskets , had the wheels powdercoted black and new bearings , installed race tech compression gold valves and rebound gold valves , new race tech springs, bushings, seals yamaha 01 suspension fluid ,and stripped the paint off the lowers and polished them . still saving for a rear shock maybe a penski or a race tech since a ohlins is very hard to find , safty wired the bike , gonna put on the track next season a few times , already has a dynojet kit with the k&n pods , also made a heat blanket between the engine and carbs , should work alot better then the factory one , ill put some pics up when i get to that point , made a couple of mounts for my scotts steering dampner since they dont make one, ek gold superbike chain and sprocket specialties rear alum sprockets -40-41-43-44 , on the street i have been using a 41 t , drop the rpm`s a few , and it still pulls hard, i still have to get galfer rotors , front ones are warped you can feel it around 100 when you grab a handful, got a one piece tail coming , upgraded to the 97 radiatorwith all new hoses, made new dog bones raised about 25mm, made custom exaust bracket no pass pegs, blasted the stock header repainted and wraped to keep heat down, drilled sprocket cover ,looks cool, new throttle cables and exup cables , curently using a hindle race 16" alum can , havent decided how to paint it yet thinking maybe a marlboro race scheme, it sure helps to work a yamaha shop when you do all this , i love this bike!

Nice work there. It seams to be coming along nicely. Are you turning it into track only or keeping it for street as well?

I admire your bike. I just recently bought one myself. Its a track only bike 1994, it was a track bike in the past but then sat around untouched for about 8yrs. Iam trying to restore the bike to a cool track day bike, and maybe do some vintage racing with it. I was lucky enough to have some race parts on it that you just cant get any more. I have attack rear sets a fox shock, EBC rotors, the older style sharkskinz race bodywork, frame mounted tody damper race tech front internals Iam also running the K&N pod filters. Ive never been a Yamaha guy so this is new to me, any info you could offer on the bike would be a great help..Iam looking for a fuel pump in a bad way. I will post some pics soon, you can tell me what you think...thanks again

dont hesitate to ask anything be glad to help. the fuel pump you can still get from yamaha but its about $500.00 , you could probably use a external from a 97 yzf1000 , locates it behind the lower gas tank and you have to gut the old pump from the inside and install a petcock that you can turn on and off.the more you read and talk to people on this forum you will learn alot quickly , there is a lot very knowlageable guys here,

nice bike, like how you are so thorough going thru the bike. u can still get an ohlins shock from parts unl. for this bike, it is just rather pricy.

The Ohlins number is YA 420 for the YZF750R and YA 421 for the YZF750SP. But Ohlins does not make the shock any more. I just had a YA 420 rebuilt by Fast Bike Industries. The guy use to be the Ohlins tech for AMA racing. Great guy, fast , great work. Plus he will custom build any shock from the catalog even if it is not a current production shock (unlike Ohlins). Here are a before and after pic of the shock I sent him:

I had a general service and new spring added. Also had the shock body swapped, new hose, and a general cleaning.

Look the company up. He will do you right. Just keep in mind that Ohlins is not cheap.

That is amazingly clean, cannot spot one bit of dirt. I may have to wrap the headers on my hybrid sp as it produces an amazing amount of heat comapred to other yzf's

I like those rear sets a lot! I also cant get over how perfect your engine block is! what did you use to clean it? a wire wheel?

when i had the engine out this winter , the cases were already in great shape but i scrubed them with mean green, carb cleaner and yes a small wire wheel on a die grinder, it worked very well, i hate a dirty bike , clean is good.

Damn, that bike looks fantastic! I have a '97 YZF 750RJ and want to upgrade brake lines and rebuild my suspension. Any suggestions?

Also, I wanted to add frame slider's just like yours. Are they bolted on to a stock mount? Or did you custom drill that? Oh and what does adding wrap to the exhaust pipe at the manifold do? Any con's?
