My buddy was rearended, and knocked into a big rig at a stoplight. He shit himself :whiteflag, and I bought it :kicknuts!! It only had 3200 miles. I gave him $5K. It will eventually be a track bike. But, for now. I'm good!!!

Not anymore Corey. I sold it last fall when I bought my '05 YZ250F. There's a few different reasons for selling it such as commuting issues to client sites, traffic, pushing limits on the street I should never be doing except on a track, and I actually was getting bored with street riding at the time (thus why pushing limits so hard).

The more decisive factor, though, was that my son wanted to learn to ride. He's too young for the street (14), so I sold the R1 and bought the YZ last fall. I then gave him the 250F when I bought my YZ450F this spring along with the TT-R125LE for my wife.

I'll eventually get back on the street, but when I do it'll be along the lines of an enduro (KLR650, BMW F650GS, XR650, etc) as I'm looking at doing ADV riding and I've gotten out of the sport bike scene mostly. I talk about this in the "What's your next bike thread" if you're interested.

Although, I still really like the FJR's. If I had the resources, I'd buy one of them along with an enduro and an R6(track bike only).

I can't blame you fjorn. I don't have kids, but I really don't think I would be too happy if he wanted to ride. My brothers are 21 and I still think they are too young/immature to ride...I would feel guilty as hell if I got them into it. If they were more mature then fine, but they are young, wild, athletic, and feel nothing can hurt them. Not the type to be on a sportbike.

That's an afternoon, or at most a couple of days in a row. We have MONTHS before we can get outside and ride again (unless we want to freeze and wreck our bikes). :kicknuts

trust me living where i live you would never ride the damn thing if you were worried it would get dirty.... its always raining here, and ou just learn to adjust, maybe ride for a week and pull the plastics to clean it after and start over again!! :crash
