YZ450F’s new rearward-slanted cylinder is a revolutionary advancement that achieves unmatched mass centralization, concentrating inertial mass toward the center of the machine. This bold new design also swaps traditional intake and exhaust positions, putting the lightweight airbox and throttle body out front. This contributes to mass centralization for nimble handling while also achieving a straight intake tract for superb combustion efficiency that delivers more power.

Will have to check them out when I get home later tonight. It's an interesting design, and will have to spend more time investigating. At this point, my next bike is planned to be a YZ250. When? Not sure.

Interesting on the airbox and fuel tank. While I like the idea of ram air, I see filter maintenance as one big PITA.

Did they swing the shock reservoir 90 degrees so it's now horizontal?

air filter looks like it would be more work to get to , and the shock reservoir is turned . I'm not surprised the exhaust clears the reservoir and the shock body- the first mock drawings made it look like the exhaust went around the shock which seemed like a lot of heat.
now that heat will be under the seat :lol

To be honest, I prefer to have filter maintenance be very simple like it is now: remove seat and you have access. If you have to remove the fuel tank all the time, I see too many issues coming up from it.

Yamaha must love making people hot (in terms of heat) on the big bikes. Granted, you might not feel the heat. :dunno

the good thing about this bike is how the motor is designed i saw a couple videos on it and the cylinder is curved inwerds to make the bike more balanced thso all the wait is in the middle i thought that was pretty cool and then i remember something about how they designed makes the piston and cylinder walll "get allong" better

i like the way the motor is designed but personaly i think the bike is ugly

I've heard nothing but good about the bike.
So once again Yamaha has a winner.
Every thing about the bike is awesome
from what I'm hearing.
A friend of mine will have hi soon s I'll be offered
a chance to ride it. I'm happy having dropped Down to a 250
I don't want to ride that bike :lol
