1.Make sure to select the proper bike, the lever size, (shorty or standard), color of the lever and the color of the adjuster.

2.Grab a cold beer and get ready.

3. Un-package your new Pazzo Levers and head to the garage or shop.

5. Loosen the bottom nut first on the brake lever. Then unscrew the bolt with a flat head screwdriver.

6. Remove the bolt and the old lever. (you can normally sell your old levers on a bike forum or e-bay for about 1/2 the cost of new ones).

http://www.rhettbuck.net/yamaha/pazzo/pazzolevers%20%286%29.jpg7. Get the new lever and apply a small amount of grease the bushing area. (some models may use the factory bushing and some may not) If you need to use the factory bushing, remove it from the stock lever and grease up and install on the new pazzo lever)

8. Install the new lever in place, insert the bolt from the top and snug with the screwdriver.

9. Install the nut on the bottom and tighten to specs. (snug).

10. Clean off any dirt or grease and make sure the lever functions properly. It should move freely and not bind.

http://www.rhettbuck.net/yamaha/pazzo/pazzolevers%20%2812%29.jpg
11. Proceed to the clutch lever next and follow the same procedures as the brake lever.

http://www.rhettbuck.net/yamaha/pazzo/pazzolevers%20%2813%29.jpg12. On the clutch side it may be necessary to loosed the clutch perch so you can twist it up. (making it easier to access the bottom nut)

13. Now you can easily get to the bottom nut for lever removal.

http://www.rhettbuck.net/yamaha/pazzo/pazzolevers%20%2816%29.jpg14. Remove the bottom nut and unscrew the bolt, then remove the stock lever.

15. Again you may need to use the factory bushing on the new lever. If so clean and apply new grease as needed.

16. Install the bolt and nut and snug to specs.

http://www.rhettbuck.net/yamaha/pazzo/pazzolevers%20%2822%29.jpg17. Move the clutch perch back into position and tighten snugly.

18. Now again make sure the levers function freely and adjust the settings to what fit's you best.

Nice job, although you might want to add in a pic of putting the clutch cable onto/off of the lever.

Hope you don't mind I linked back to this from my local bike groups website. (free advertising for YFN)

Not at all, the more the better... that is how this site will grow... if we spread the word, and being known for information is a great thing as well. :)(

while you're doing this is also a very convenient time to fit the bars to your riding position/arm length

1. loosen the bolts holding the master cylinder onto the clip on
2. Sit on the bike in the riding position you're in for the longest stretches (cruise position)
3. rotate it until you're able to reach the lever without bending your wrist at all.
4. Snug up the bolts.

if you do it right it'll cut down on arm pump and rider fatigue, you can do the same thing clutch-side ofcourse.

you might wanna adjust your rearsets too while you're at it.

Good points JR, this is one main thing many newer people over look... you want to keep your wrist's straight and inline with your arm when your squeezing the levers. Although the brake side on newer R1's don't allow for much adjustment, there is a little.
