Hi all:

Any of you ever replaced the cylinder seals in a YZF750 front brake caliper?

I'm having a real #$%^& of a time doing is, because access into the cylinder is so restricted by the caliper's single piece design (you can't split the caliper into two pieces.)

Thanks!

hi the calipers are splitable they are held together with 4 allen key bolts on mine, unless they have been changed for something else at some point? the bolt heads are on the outer side of the caliper,

Yes the calipers do split in half , just take care when you pull the pistons out not to tear them up as you twist them out , seals are quite expensive these days. There are 2 different part #`s that go in them.

Are the seals leaking, or is it that the brakes are binding? If they're not leaking, you can get a toothbrush and soapy water and scrub the calipers around the boot areas to clean out the junk.
