Hello Everyone,

Just signed up on here. Hope to pick up a few hints, tips and general info. As well as inputting when I can. I live in UK (Penzance, Cornwall....THE best part :mrgreen ), have a second home in the Philippines and currently working on an oil exploration crew in Angola, Africa. I am a mechanic by trade, but have only just ventured into MX and Enduro bikes.

Few pics or my WR400 6 months ago when I just bought it:

And just about nearly finished the rebuild:

Had a few problems along the way. Someone had fitted KTM wheels to it, and they are slightly different spacing, so the brakes never really ran true to the disc's. 5mm Spacers made for the front caliper carrier, and the rear is still at the machine shop getting a disc adapter made.

Also wired it from scratch and added a battery, I'm not good with electrics but muddled through it. Hope to finish it when I get home in August, and want to take my full bike test on it. 28 years old, I should have done it sooner.....:rolleyes

Thanks for all the welcoming replies guys.

R1Lover, Yes the twin headlight had to go. It looked terrible and is not road legal in England.

SoCalRider, I'm gonna need some luck on the test. Riding a bike is not probs, but the examiner following and watching puts me off no end. I done my CBT, and by the end I had real bad arm pump, coz I was so uptight....lol

Spent ages trying to get the KTM moto wheels to fit.....never again. Still, it's a blast on the back country roads.....:mrgreen
