You can purchase from their site. Not sure if they are still doing it this way, but previously you had to fill out the form of your choice of seating 1-4 and parking. Then you will be assigned seating of your choices on a first come first serve basis.

The 92nd Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 25. The stars of the IndyCar Series, including Indy winners Helio Castroneves and Dan Wheldon, and rising young stars Marco Andretti and Danica Patrick, will race inches apart in ?The Greatest Spectacle in Racing? at 220 mph for a record winner?s purse of at least $2.5 million.
Next is the 15th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday, July 27. Defending event champion Tony Stewart will lead the drivers of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to the 2.5-mile IMS oval, joined by four-time winner Jeff Gordon and fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr., for the world?s largest stock car race.
The 2008 season will conclude with the return of motorcycle racing to IMS for the first time in 99 years with the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sunday, Sept. 14. The world?s fastest motorcycles will race across the famed Yard of Bricks at 210 mph, with an impressive roster of American stars, including 2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden, and international riders like Valentino Rossi, one of the most popular athletes in the world.

R1 MASTER 12-03-2007, 09:46 PM Dec 03, 2007
From a press release issued by Indianapolis Motor Speedway:
INDIANAPOLIS, Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 – Paving of the two new turn complexes of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course is complete, and construction of the entire circuit remains on schedule for the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sept. 12-14, 2008.
Paving was finished Nov. 21, and most major phases of the project are now finished, said Kevin Forbes, IMS director of engineering and construction.
“The creek relocation and concealment is finished,” Forbes said. “All of the paving is finished. We have 80 percent of all of the earthwork and grading finished. We have 40 or 45 percent of either relocated or new guardrail installed and have 20 percent of all the fencing completed.”
Construction will continue during the winter, with most work completed by May 4, Opening Day for the 92nd Indianapolis 500. The 16-turn circuit will be finished in June or July, Forbes said, at least two months before the first MotoGP event at IMS.
“We had an extremely ambitious, almost unrealistic schedule,” Forbes said. “So we’re right on schedule. Had we developed a schedule that was a lot more realistic, we’d be way ahead of that schedule.
“It really bordered on the unrealistic to expect to have all of the paving done this fall. And with just a lot of perseverance, determination and great weather, it’s done.”
Representatives from the FIM, motorcycle racing’s worldwide sanctioning body, and Dorna, the commercial rights holder for MotoGP, visited IMS on Nov. 27-28 and were impressed by the progress made since their last visit, in August.
“They did a fantastic job,” said Franco Uncini, the 1982 500cc World Champion and MotoGP rider safety representative. “Big improvements. We feel satisfied about the layout, the improvements, everything. We will come back for the final inspection, but for the moment, we feel very, very happy about the layout of the racetrack.”
In construction terms, the 8,000 tons of asphalt laid for the new surface is small, but it was no easy task blending the old pavement of the Speedway’s famed 2.5-mile oval – which comprises part of the course – with the pavement used in the infield sections of the road course.
“It’s very delicate surgery,” Forbes said. “It’s like taking an artery and splicing it into another artery because they’ve got to flow perfectly together. You can’t change the oval and affect the characteristics for the two oval events, but on the other hand, to come off the oval onto the road course has to be equally seamless for the road course events.
“That’s where I feel the difficulty in this project lies. It’s not the size of it, but the complexity and the sensitivity to the existing elements are what make this project very unique and tricky.”
Despite all the changes made to IMS since August, Forbes is excited about revealing the new circuit to the public.
“I think they’re really going to surprise people,” Forbes said. “I think even the long time, die-hard fans will look at this place in the spring and realize just how beautiful this race course is going to become.”
Said FIM Safety Director Claude Danis: “We are all very happy and all very excited. All fans of MotoGP and motorcycle racing around the world, they are all talking about Indianapolis. I think many people will come from Europe and the other countries of the world to see this MotoGP race in Indianapolis.”
Red Bull Indianapolis GP tickets: Tickets are on sale for the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sept. 14, 2008.
Tickets can be purchased either online at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com at any time; on the phone by calling (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area or (317) 492-6700 locally between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday; or visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Ticket Office on the first floor of the IMS Administration Building at 4790 W. 16th St. in Indianapolis from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
All tickets for this event are three-day tickets, with both reserved and general admission seating available.

R6Flyby 03-29-2008, 08:33 PM I'll join in. One of the girls that we are coming out with is from there so we have a tour guide.
riley42 05-13-2008, 09:53 PM Ok so as I've posted before the race weekend happens to be the same weekend as my mother's 50th birthday so I'll have to forego the race this year. My tickets will be for sale. I have two tickets in the A penthouse at the end of the start finish straight just before turn 1. I'll be selling them and the two motorcycle parking passes for face value. I don't have the tickets in hand yet, as they havent been shipped yet. I'm sure I could get more than face value closer to race time, but I'm not a ticket scalper and I hate scalpers for making it hard to get good tickets to shit. If anyone's interested PM me, and I'll go on a first pm basis for who gets dibs.
I believe the tickets are $150 each and the parking passes are $20 each.
I'm legit ask Bogie I won't rip you off or steal your money and run.
I'll get the actual row and seat numbers for anyone that's interested.
If these haven't sold by the time I actually have them in hand I'll put them in the classified section, and then eventually R1F and ebay.
ant0879 06-05-2008, 07:15 PM what is the difference between ama racing and moto gp racing
riley42 06-05-2008, 08:33 PM AMA racing is based off modified production bikes, and only races here in the States. MotoGP is protoype motorcycles and races all over the world. MotoGP is the end all be all of motorcycle racing. It's the league where the best of the best in motorcycle racing go head to head on the fastest bikes in the world.
Firehawk 06-05-2008, 09:14 PM what is the difference between ama racing and moto gp racing
AMA Superbike = Indy Racing League
MotoGP = Forumula One
(hopefully you're a car guy ;))
riley42 06-05-2008, 09:41 PM MotoGP also has an international fan base that would be the equivalent of Nascar here. They have 6 figure fan attendance at every race where as AMA is lucky to have 10-20k for a race.
ant0879 06-06-2008, 11:49 AM ok then one more question, how come yamaha wins alot in moto gp but gsxr has everyone beat in ama racing
R1Lover 06-06-2008, 12:02 PM ok then one more question, how come yamaha wins alot in moto gp but gsxr has everyone beat in ama racing
Because it's a whole different bike, the AMA uses street machines that are modified for racing.... MotoGP used very high end breaking edge parts and equipment. This stuff you won't see anywhere and is often top secret for many years before hitting the production bikes.
So to answer your question, it's all a matter of where the company puts their money and effort to be honest... yamaha has never been a big player in AMA superbike and actually just started back in that series last year after dropping out of it a few years back. Suzuki has been in it from the start and has a very well put together package.

riley42 07-29-2008, 03:58 PM Anyone get their tickets yet? I haven't received mine, and I really need them in hand so I can sell them. Once again I'm selling 2 penthouse A tickets because of my mom's b-day being the same weekend, and it's her 50th so it's a must attend event.

Nope not yet:no I vote to take your mom along. she'll have a great time.:badgerslayer
riley42 07-30-2008, 08:48 PM I took her to Road Atlanta and she had a blast, but going all the way to Indy ain't gonna happen. :(

R1 MASTER 07-31-2008, 11:20 PM Called IMS today. Well technically I guess it was Yesterday. They said the first batch of tickets will be sent out Aug 13. Apparently tickets will be sent out in the order they were purchased so in theory whomever purchased theirs first should receive them first. :thumup
Ride safe.
riley42 08-01-2008, 02:15 AM Damn that doesn't leave much time to try and sell them. I'll be pissed if I have two tickets that don't get used.
R6Flyby 08-01-2008, 05:53 PM Thanks for checking on that and the update.
R6Flyby 08-15-2008, 06:40 PM Received today:yahoo
riley42 08-16-2008, 01:26 AM Got mine today as well. Tix are pretty sweet too they're printed on cardboard so they're thick and durable. But like I said before I can't go and I'm asking face value to who ever wants them. They are Penthouse A box 17 row D seats 5 and 6. These are elevated seats at the end of the start finish straight. For 300 you get both plus I'll throw in the parking passes for free. PM me if you're interested. I'll post them in the classified section as well this weekend.
R1 MASTER 08-17-2008, 08:05 PM Yep, finally received them. :rock

its been in the mid 90's for the past few weeks here now the weather is changing started raining here yesterday. the hurricanes aftermath is on us now i guess. the fifteen day forecast for Indy is rain and 68 on race day. I doubt the accuracy of the rain but I am guessing the temps are going to be cool .
R1 MASTER 09-05-2008, 09:53 AM Less than a week to go! :rock 68 sounds perfect, but you can keep the rain. However, unlike the AMA in the past MotoGP should race in the rain. :yes
Ride safe.
macattack 09-09-2008, 03:59 PM The following is from IMS...
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is prepared for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sept. 12-14, the first motorcycle race at the facility since 1909, with a special parking and facility access plan for motorcycles and automobiles.
Approximately 26 acres of parking, comprising more than 15,600 parking spots, at the vast IMS facility will be dedicated to motorcycles.
While motorcycle and automobile parking is available on the west and south perimeter of the IMS grounds, the majority of parking lots – both inside and outside of the facility, free and paid-parking – are on the north side.
Fans that wish to park inside the IMS grounds should enter via Gate 10 on 30th Street. Gate 2, the main tunnel entrance off 16th Street and a traditional public access point for the Indianapolis 500 and Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, will be available only for credentialed and disabled parking.
“The Indianapolis 500 and Allstate 400 at the Brickyard are the two largest single-day sporting events in the world, and we have adapted our experience and skill in managing traffic flow within the facility at those races to fit the needs of the many motorcyclists who will ride to the Red Bull Indianapolis GP,” said Joie Chitwood, IMS president and chief operating officer.
As with every event at IMS, Red Bull Indianapolis GP fans should listen for traffic updates on local radio stations and pay attention to the direction of law enforcement officials, as traffic patterns can change.
More than 7,600 of the public parking spots designated for motorcycles on Red Bull Indianapolis GP weekend are free, with another 7,300 available for paid parking.
Parking “pucks” will be available at each motorcycle lot, along with helmet and leather check stations.
A large, free parking lot for motorcycles will be located behind the North and Northwest Vista grandstands (oval Turn 4). Additional free public parking will be available on the backstretch of the IMS oval in limited amounts.
Free parking for automobiles will be available in the traditional locations: the “North 40” lot just inside Gate 10 and inside Turn 3 of the oval in the IMS infield.
Access to the free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additional paid parking lots for motorcycles and automobiles, along Georgetown Road and along 16th Street, also will be available.
Four paid motorcycle parking lots are located on the west side of Georgetown Road between 25th Street and 16th Street. Two more paid motorcycle lots are on the south side of 16th Street just east of Georgetown Road and across from the IMS oval.
