yamajj 03-11-2009, 12:29 PM how many have made it to their happy owners? i have received a ship date of March 9th, but do not know if that's shipped from warehouse to dallas or dallas to my dealer. not thinking it's the latter as my dealer does not have it yet and i'm in tulsa.

that's what i thought. my dealer, k&n, swapped another dealer because they didn't have a buyer for the white/red. i was happy to accept as it was delivered to k&n in the crate. i watched it uncrated.....no pics, i've done that before.
it has 51 miles as of this afternoon and it freakin' rocks! couldn't ride much more as i already got caught in some spotty rain......home to clean.

sruzhyo 05-04-2009, 12:49 AM ok so tell us.
Does it really pull down low like it's touted? What's the word man??
And btw...would you mind if I borrow one for a bit? ;)
So did you actually put the first miles on your bike? or does the tech at the dealer do that after adding fluids etc?

does it pull down low? yes and then some. it really feels like a v-twin at low rpm's. the front wheel has been off the ground while coming out of a slow corner, which i'm used to with the others. you can be in first going 50~60 and throttle and the crazy thing comes up with no problem. (i'm not a wheelie guy and never have been. i like wheelies coming out of corners, while still leaning)
the guy who put it together, shannon ball, just rode it across the parking lot nothing more. (i work at this dealership on race weekends or when they are short people, so they treat me like family.) shannon actually said i'm only going to put in a gallon of fuel because all we have is 87 octane. to which i said, thanx man.
i finally got to get it out of town last saturday. (390 miles) i found myself taking corners faster than normal and i dragged my tow in a left curve. (reducing radius) i hadn't done that since i did it on my '97 yzf1000.....on the same curve.
that would be a long trip to ride a bike.:lol

Hmm so maybe we have different ideas of low RPMs =) When you're at 50-60mph in first, what kind of rpm is your motor spinning at?
And for the record...pulling up the front wheel out of a turn while still leaned over is one of the most incredible feelings...smooth, controlled, hey my front wheel is in the air as you transition...it's amazing :)
Tuck your damn toes back in! :poke
yamajj 05-05-2009, 06:58 PM i don't really remember what rpm's were at in first gear going 50~60, but i guess around 5k or so? 1st gear is around 100mph as most of the liter bikes are nowadays. yea, i'm not used to tucking my foot under so much.
oh yea, forgot to show the pix of the akras. these were taken before the deluge of rain for the past 14 days, so i haven't had a chance to take anymore of it.

Wow. Just wow. I want it =)
And the Akras? Hot!! Go put miles on it already! :)
yamajj 05-06-2009, 06:03 AM it has about 930 miles on the clock as it sits in the dry garage. i'm waiting for a dry day....something that's hard to get around here lately. my yard is so overgrown because the ground is so saturated.

Dude, 930 miles already??
Wow :) That's what I'm talking about!
Ok, so did you break her in uber gently like the manual recommends? Or did you romp on it?

i broke it in the same way i have all my bikes. rev it freely throughout all gears, also letting it rev down in all gears to get a good seal both ways. as i've been told, you can take it to red line, just don't leave it there.
my bikes saw triple digits many times before they hit 50 miles. i also change my oil at 100, 500, 1000 and then every 3k.
