Okay, We changed the spark plug, changed the oil and added a new battery and it won't start....not even a spark. Any ideas? We've had to people that own Yamaha 250's look at it but I don't think that they completely know what to look for.

it is getting fuel but no spark ?
I would check the wires going to the kill switch and starter button , dirt bikes get dropped alot.

I would inspect all the wires if it has no spark, before I even considered looking inside the engine or replacing electrical components.

One question, how are you starting it? Electric starter, or kick? If using the starter, how does it turn over? Slow/sluggish? Might be that you don't have enough electricity to provide to the ignition coil.

I would get a test light, or multimeter, and check at the connector going to the ignition coil (spark plug boot) to see if you're getting a signal.
