I work out at pretty large gym (Lift Time Fitness), so needless to say, there is a pretty broad cross section of all the cretens in life represented there, I usually give em all nick names so I ll start with the ones that irked me most today.................

The Lazy Fuks
I am leaving the GYM today, and there they are again, no less than 3 cars circling the parking lot looking for spaces close to the door. There are TONS of open spaces, you might have to walk 30 - 50 yds, but tons of em. Are they afraid their going to get TO MUCH exercise?

My only pet peeve that I'm concerned about is that I can't really workout like I used to anymore. All I can really do is mild calisthenics and cardio. :mad

As to other people, I don't know what that's like. I have a full gym in my basement. :mock

I dont know what it is with old men in the locker room, but none of the fkrs put a towel on going to or from the showers. One of the wrinkly mother fuggers in particular takes it a step further. I kid you not....he stands there and uses a Blow dryer to blow dry his ass and balls, and its not like he is subtle about it. He throws a foot up on the counter, the same one other people brush there teeth at, and proceeds to blow dry his nasty ass crack and balls.

Is that really neccessary? :mad Its one of those things when you see it you just want to walk up and punch the guy, or at the very least ask him WTF do you think your doing, maybe just a little common courtesy, go do it somewhere else where other people dont have to stand next to you to shave and what not.

Another one that is interesting to watch, he has been a member at the gym for over a year, but I have never seen him break a sweat nor put any kind of legitimate work out routing together. He mainly just moves from one piece of equipment to the next with the only seemingly logical reason being to get close to this one asian girl that works out there. She on the other hand is a nothing but business in the gym, throws me for a loop. Its almost scarry how he follows her though, thought about asking her if he was bothering her, but after a year of it I have started to wonder if he's just an over protective BF or something.

people who sit on a machine and hog it while they are between reps. people who slam their weights down when it's not enough weight to warrant it. Basically people acting like they are Arnold in the gym when they are not even close.

the other day I was showering at the gym after the workout and I was the only one in there, while I had my eyes closed, I heard someone walked in. That fugger proceeded to use the shower head next to mine!? I was like wtf!? There are like 30 others, but the homo decided to shower next to me :rant :rantI had a deathgrip on my bar of soap so I didn't drop it :blush

oh I also can't stand fackers that load up the barbell when doing benchpress and only go down an inch instead of full ROM. Same thing goes with squats. These are the kind of people that brag that can bench so and so

I'll totally agree with ya right there. Screaming and yelling under the strain of 1/4 of what the actual rep is supposed to look like.

My pet peeve? Fuggers that can do over 30 pullups. The little top-heavy tweaks that have to HANG weight while doing pull-ups to get a decent burn. :mrgreen

people that bend the damn dumbbells by dropping them after doing dumbbell presses, so now they're bent and before you lean back on the bench with them you have to make sure the bowed side will be facing down , so you're not having to try and press PLUS keep them from rolling in your hands. Stupid twats.

:imwst that's why I can't even walk out onto the floor until 10pm or later.

And is it really THAT hard to put the weight back where you found it? Esp dumb bells? "That's right......those funny numbers on the end of the dumb bell match the funny numbers on the rack. Friend of mine is 45, and could block pull 750 at 5'6" 145 lbs. I forget what his best is on all lifts, but he set a couple of records a few years ago.

Another friend of mine is 57(?) now, and is constantly setting records every year for his age group. Will be interesting to see what he does once he's over 60. :workout

The other guy on my team benched 405 at a bodyweight of 174. He's since retired from competition, and now told me that he's been playing with reps for 225. He's currently up to 32 reps. :workout I'd like to see what he could do with some Olympic lift training.

fjorn

Yeah, it's amazing to be around such strong people and see what they can do in lifts. Gives a lot of motivation at times to think they can do that at such a light weight. I came into the strength game a little too late, and with some injuries from other sports. Which, unfortunately, means I'll never see weight percentages like they can pull.

I started working with my son recently, and given his age (14) and genetics (he's 5'9" and a very lean 165 pounds), I'll really be interested to see what he can do. He's on a break between football and wrestling season, so I'm doing plyometrics and such with him. Once he enters into off-season from wrestling (end of February), I'll be working with him on a good program. He's got some more muscle mass to put on in order to continue to play center. Although, I'd rather see him continue to play defensive end more.

I work out at Gold's Venice. It is the worst of the worst. 9 am or around 5 pm, totally donkey show. However, when I go in there generally its super motivating because after 7, even later its the focused athletes, and I feel like I can put my head down and get my focus on.

As for all the forementioned complaints, I think it happens at all gyms, some worse then others.

Most of my clients I dont even train in a gym.

following up on what many have said....people that use the gym as a social club. Working out with "their crew" and some friends show up and they hug, stand around and then work out some more...

I gave up Golds Gym a few years ago. My gym now is an old mechanics shop that was turned into a gym. No AC, and just weights and mirrors. FTW

I hate it when I do a set, stop for literally "1 second", and someone asks me if they can "just jump in for a set".

I hate it when people stand around and talk.

I hate it when I go at 10pm because thats when all the lazy bastids are home sitting on their couch, and one of em breaks free and decides to use the bench press bench as their couch, not actually doing anything, when I want to do a set.

I hate it when I'm working to exhaustion, and some prick tries to help "Come on duuuude, one more rep, you can do it". This would be seconds before I try to bury a dumbell into his pea sized cranium...

I hate it when theres a bunch of school kids in there who are lifting what a 5 year old can lift, and they're just taking up space.

Finally, I hate myself when I want to do some obscure bodypart, and I have to use light weights - the kind that said school kids are monopolising.

Ahhh, who am I kidding. I just hate people full stop. Fuggers.
