it's an RC172 from the late 1960's, 6 cylinder 250.

Holy Crap - The Damn thing revs like an electric motor.

They started that thing up at Laguna last year too.....sounded sweet.

I don't know about you guys, but it sounds like a lawnmower... try don't look at the vid and just listen to the sound... :lol

that was competing the year that Yamaha and Honda both won the title, they changed the points rules partway thru the season, and one company won under each points system.

Yamaha had a 9 speed transmission on a 4 cylinder iirc.

Then the FIM stepped in and said "all 250's have to be twins, and can't have more than 6 gears."

i heard that bike at the 2002 suzuka 8 hour,where they introduced the new rc211v with doohan riding it.the 6 cylinder 250 is the most amazing sounding bike on earth.
