BlackFZR 11-04-2007, 02:36 PM Just got back from a track day with it in stock trim (engine and exhaust wise). This thing screams. Get it over 210km/h, and you hear the ram air start to build up and it just takes off again. Using the stock Qualifier tyres, I was exiting turn 6 of the back straight at about 15-20km down on what my normal corner speed was on may last race bike, and was hitting an indicated 258km/h at my braking point, thats an additional 12km/h on top of the K4 GSXR600 I was racing all this year. Can't wait to get the full system, YEC Gasket and Port and Polish done to it. Smiling all week now :)
gsxcorey 11-04-2007, 05:37 PM can't wait to see the pics of it on the track :) hopefully you got some.

Brief summary of the season, Ended up going too fast to race in our Clubman series, so after round 2 was confined to the Supersport class. Despite missing 6 out of a total of 15 races available for the season, managed to come 8th overall in the Supersport Class. Pretty happy with the results, and already upgrading suspension and doing some engine head work for next year.
fjorn 11-26-2008, 04:20 AM :thumbup
Nice and congrats on the race season.
R1 MASTER 11-26-2008, 07:24 AM Bike looks awesome and congratulations on the great season. :thumbup
You will have to keep us informed of your progress next season.
Ride safe.
riley42 11-30-2008, 08:16 PM Sweet pics!
BlackFZR 01-24-2009, 04:03 PM Well racing finished at the beginning of November, and saw the end of a season where I had my first crash while racing, I won my First (and last for the rest of the year) Clubman 600 Race, I dropped my PB by 2.2 seconds, I constantly got into the 62's, despite problems sourcing tyres, as well as using three different tyre brands across the year. Additionally it saw me on the podium a few times in different races, and have absolutely awesome battles with a friends out on the track cutting the same lap times as me. On the downside (not really down....) a friend and team mate hung up his boots again after round 1, then came back for round 5 and hung them up again. Now he's back doing something he loves, Enduro's, which is fantastic to see.
The work being completed this summer....
The suspension of the R6 (front and rear) has been pulled out and taken to Russell Farrow @ Allect Racing, where he waved his wand and got me a set-up that seems unbelievable, plush over the sharp bumps, settled over the dips, and hard when it comes to the braking. Once I finally get the tyres I'll be running for the year, I'll be able to spend some time and actually set-up the bike to a base point, and then slowly dial in the suspension.
Over Christmas, the engine was taken out, and has been given to Gavin Carlini (WTF Racer, sponsor, and old-school mechanic), who will wave his wand over the engine, porting it, checking all the wear parts and clearances, as well as doing some additional work. Gavin is an Australian Drag Champion, and has been setting up bikes for over 20 years. Its going to be interesting to see what he can do..... In addition to the porting, I'll also have a High Compression Gasket fitted, taking it up from 12:8 to 13.1, making the bike rev a little quicker as well as giving it slightly more mid-range. It will also be fitted with Iridium spark-plugs, taking care to make sure they are orientated in the correct direction so that no shadow is created in the fuel spray by the arm on the spark plug, ensuring an even and more consistent flame front within the cylinder. Finally the AI (Air Injection) system will be completely removed from the bike. This is generally used to reduce the perceived CO values in the exhaust, ensuring that the bike meets EC standards. This is a race bike, and it doesn't have to meet the standards, so this goes.
After the engine work is completed, the engine will go back into the bike, Gavin will tune it using the PCIII, and then a final check & tune shall be completed by taking it to a Dynojet Dyno (probably Patto's in Bunbury) for the final check and analysis.
While all this is being completed, the fairings will also go in for a bit of an update, with a revised colour scheme being worked on and tried across the next few weeks. The focus for the scheme is to reduce the large areas of black on the bike, making it easier for camera's to focus on when on the track. It may sound vain, but If I truly want to help the people who sponsor me to race, even the smallest things need to be considered.
Along with this, a team mate has a new bike which will see another design being completed, and withanother racer joining the WTF Racing fold, a third bike will also have to be stickered up as well. A busy time in all...... But great times with mates, spinning shit, working on bikes and relaxing.....
BlackFZR 04-09-2009, 06:51 PM Well the 2009 season is upon me. Managed to get a YEC intake cam put into the bike, and had the high compression gasket installed. Finally had the bike Dynoe'd and tuned as well......
124 RWHP, and a shitload more midrange grunt (dynochart to come......)
In addition managed to get the fairing scheme modified somewhat, and even took it into a studio for some shots.....
http://www.empirephotography.com.au/wp-content/gallery/studio/r6x.jpg
More studio shots to come.
Also since then, we had the first Club-raceday here, and I managed to do ok. While still trying to sort out the rear shock and get good drive out of the corner, as well as get used to new tyre compounds, I managed to do quite well. It wasn't until just before the last race that I found out my pit crew had been using a damaged pressure gauge, so had been running 40psi in the front & 36psi in the rear tyre. Still managed to do a new PB with those tyre pressures though.
Outcome for the day. 2nd C Grade 600 rider. Now for some more tuning with correct tyre pressures, and new rubber... :)

Ballistic_R6 01-06-2010, 06:37 PM Will you come clean my bike like that? Whats your secret? Sharp bike for sure!
BlackFZR 06-03-2010, 12:31 AM Well its a new year (its been a long time since I updated this I'm sorry), and more has been done to the bike. Last year was a bit of a catastrophy, with three crashes, one bad shoulder injury, and some major repairs. This saw me only complete in three rounds for the season, and has really set me back in my lap-times. I've been back on the bike for the last 6 months now, and am getting back to about 1 second off my previous PB.
I've now added a WP rear shock into the bike, and installed KTech supersport valves into the forks. I've also upgraded to a Brembo RCS Master cylinder for the front, and finally added the BMC Race Filter, along with the YEC Velocity stacks. Thats pushed the bike up to 129RWHP, with another nice jump in the mid-range due to the velocity stacks. After the finish of the season last year, all valve clearances etc were checked, and (thank god) none needed to be adjusted or replaced. I think I've got the engine to a point now where it runs well with just slightly more regular than normal maintenance required.
After last year where I tried the Michelins, and crashed all three times, I've gone back to the Pirelli's again as something that is tried, and doesn't make me doubt myself. I've also got a few new sponsors on board as well, so running costs are almost completely covered now as well.
Additionally I've finally had time to get all the rest of the bikes in the team prepped and repainted as well, so there is now a garage of bikes all ready to go for the new season.
Currently the bike looks like this.

We've also got a CBR600RR in the team as well.....
