: HELP...Im Lost, Bike 4-Sale Offer
Wicked1 04-08-2008, 02:00 PM Well, I got an interesting phone call about 15 minutes ago...This guy I know thats about as obsessed as me with r1's called and asked me if I was interested in selling my 04 Rossi R1. I told him ya the thought never leaves my mind. In the past I havent ever kept a bike for more than a year. I mod them then sell them:duh. Dont get me wrong here, I absolutly love my bike. but i also love the 07 blue r1 and 07 black honda 1000rr that are siting on my dealership floor for almost nothing:fact...Hell Im even interested in picking up an r6 or 600rr. well maybe not but i like a change of pace...I have owned this badass for almost a year and im lost...I dont know if i should stick with it and get crazy with her for a couple more years or get out and move on...THe guy has CASH and could buy it tomorrow...He doesnt care if i sell it stock or modded. I just need to come up with a price or a final answer by tomorrow...
What are your thoughts?:rolleyes
R1Lover 04-08-2008, 02:12 PM It all depends on the amount! How much will he pay?
fjorn 04-08-2008, 03:11 PM If it's what you'd consider a decent deal, go for it. But, make sure you have a bike come May...
Wicked1 04-08-2008, 03:45 PM I believe hes willing to drop about 7200 on my bike. Thats with most of the mods removed. I like that part, I just went to the bike shop here in town and they just sold their last 07 r1 leftover last friday:rant I can get an 08 raven r1 for 11500 but i dont know if i wanna spend that right now. They have a 07 cbr1000rr in black for 10000. that isnt a bad deal and its a damn nice bike:fact...I also have a shot at an 06 daytona 675 in red, 10k miles and mint mint mint (its owned by my buddy that owns a motorcycle dealership:pimp) and its got a great price 6500 :fact i could even get financed thru triumph and extend the warranty with that one:rolleyes
i dont know if im ready to jump down to a 600 class bike and especially a euro bike at that:dunno
I like my r1s but there isnt any for sale around here:rant
fjorn 04-08-2008, 03:55 PM A lot of people I know have dropped from the R1 to the new R6 or CBR600rr and have said they enjoy it better. :dunno
For myself, when I get back on the road, it's an FJR-1300. :fact
Wicked1 04-08-2008, 04:32 PM you see, it seems like everyone here has a 600. its somewhat rare to see a 1000 and from the 600s ive rode, i dont really know if i am going to miss the 1000 top end rush. I have become so in tune with it. i love the way the 06 and up r6 looks, hell there is even a yellow 50th for sale in the paper for 7500 that i think would be a sick bike to play with:fact
fjorn 04-08-2008, 04:56 PM You are in a college town, so of course their's going to be a bunch of 600's. ;)
Most people I've talked to have said that the '06 and up R6 is equivalent to the pre 04 R1's. Of course, most of them have only ridden the 98-03 R1's and nothing newer. Supposedly, the 08 R6's are even better than the previous years.
BTW, a local dealer here has an '08 R6 in yellow/black flame. Looks neat, but I'd never do it. I'd rather buy the R6s that has chipped paint on the tank for a few hundred less than they're asking. ;)
Wicked1 04-08-2008, 05:48 PM actually d-price24z28 is the newest member of our forum. He's my friend that is interested...Id love to try out another bike since thats what i do is hop around from bike to bike. I guess its really up to him in some sense. if hes really interested in my bike than i just may sell it to him so i can move on and mess with another toy. Its a great bike and im gonna be satisfied with whatever happens. I wouldnt be suprised, if i sell my bike, that i pick up a 600 tho:fact
Junior 04-08-2008, 08:18 PM unload the whore, grab the CBR and give it a whirl for a year or 2.
riley42 04-09-2008, 05:01 AM If you're gonna switch bikes I'd go current generation bikes. An 08 CBR 1000rr or 08 ZX 10, K7-K8, 07-08 R1, 08 R6, or the new Gixxer 600 when it comes out. If you buy an older gen in any of these bikes you'll just end up getting the new gen eventually anyway. I wouldn't spend 10k on an 07 CBR when the new one is so much better altho uglier. If you wanna stick with the 10k or less price range I'd say the 08 R6 seems like THE bike you should buy hands down.
Wicked1 04-09-2008, 05:50 AM hmm...
valerossi 04-09-2008, 07:46 AM A lot of people I know have dropped from the R1 to the new R6 or CBR600rr and have said they enjoy it better. :dunno
Either the R1 they dropped was really old or they're lying... it's like saying they enjoy a 250 better than a 800... :lol Well, unless if it's a very small tracks, then maybe...
I guess not everyone is after the same thing, some people like to ride something that they can control, and some people like to ride something that will scare the shit out of them... :mrgreen
:ride
valerossi 04-09-2008, 07:48 AM Wicked1, sorry, back to subject... if the offer is good, definitely go for it. :yes
J Dollaz 04-09-2008, 08:08 AM Sell it, and wait patiently for the 09 R1....
Then Mod the F*** out of that! :sneaky
Bogie 04-09-2008, 10:11 AM Sell it!! Then you can quit bugging me about my wheels!!! :lol :lol
gsxcorey 04-15-2008, 04:55 AM Not sure i can really say if you should keep it or sell it as there are pro's/con's to both sides. I will say that if new bike sales don't go up soon then prices might get lower. From what I hear new bike sales are truly in the dump. Completely horrible from what I hear.
Wicked1 04-15-2008, 06:16 AM im pretty sure im keeping her...i think i need to start getting myself outta debt instead of adding to it:lol that and she is starting to turn into something special and truly unique...i find people constantly crowding around it when i go out on rides and when i show up around any group of people who havent seen it much:pimp
tilbury007 04-16-2008, 09:58 AM I also have a shot at an 06 daytona 675 in red, 10k miles and mint mint mint (its owned by my buddy that owns a motorcycle dealership:pimp) and its got a great price 6500 :fact i could even get financed thru triumph and extend the warranty with that one:rolleyes
i dont know if im ready to jump down to a 600 class bike and especially a euro bike at that:dunno
its not euro it's english:mock
stick with your R1 and wait for the 09:thumbup
