I'm thinking of picking up some H.I.D's for my 05 R1. From what I see the two main brands people reccomend are A&R and another ebay company. I like the A&R's since they say they are plug and play. Plus they have a new digital ballast option that is supposed to be much cooler (tempwise) to run.

I plan on going with the 4300 or 6000 kit. I want more usable light then bluish or purple light.

From what I see, everyone uses the kit for lowbeams only. What do you use for your high beams? Do you just use the stock bulbs or put something else in their place? Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

I have HID's on my 05 and I got mine through "Aline Electronics" on ebay. Make sure you use japan made bulbs. From what i hear they are the best. Aline has a lifetime garantee on their bulbs. They have a slim module also that is only 1/2 inch thick. So they are much easier to fit in he bike.
Youalso want to run a digital setup to garantee that the color of the bulbs willbe the same. I love mine, i'm using 8000K and they are easily 5x brighter than regular bulbs.

Cool. Thanks man. So going with the slim digital ballast is the way to go. Good info. I was thinking that would be better, even just for the ease of installation.

Did you do just your low beam or low and high beams?

Yes just the low only. There isn't a lot of room even when using the slim balasts. The reason the balasts are slim is that they put the igniter in the harness running inline instead of in the same box w/ the module.
I'm going to pick up a set of ultrabright white bulbs for the high beams. Because the regular bulbs look a bit yellowish compaired to the hids.
