damn.....i don't know bro....

you saw that Blur just ordered a Harris swinger for his 98....just might have to do that eventually. going to run a steel tank again, but damn if i just don't want to pick up the phone and order a carbon tank from QB Carbon....

no matter how well i rebuild this bike, there's STILL more crap i want to do to it. an unlimited budget would be awfully nice. :lol

Ti Dzus fasteners for mids
Ti drilled washers for chain guide
Black ano screws for gascap

Nah, not at all. I liked Ron's green and silver paint scheme. It was a shame that it got damaged when he went down. :)

The 02/03 R1's are still my favorite. Between Ron and Dylan's bikes, I don't think I've seen near perfection anywhere else. IMO, they really did a great job on both of their bikes. :cool

Thanks again for the compliments guys . . . it is appreciated :thumbup

Actually the pearl green paint job and used mid's I bought were a thorn in my side all along. The paint job had several imperfections that drove me nuts, and the used LH mid was tweaked from a previous crash and was slightly bowed at the V-Panel. You really only noticed those things up close but I'm a damn perfectionist & it bugged the shat out of me.

I swapped those for the light gray mids with painted logo's . . . than crashed. After the crash I resprayed the whole bike again. If the green would have been a higher quality job and the 2nd set of mids fit properly I may have kept the old "Benelli" color scheme longer :sneaky

wth is a 'chain holder'? or more importantly.....why?

fjorn
04-10-2008, 08:55 AM
So it doesn't scratch the paint on the swingarm when you remove the wheel. I never saw a need for it, but if others want one...

rorlow
04-10-2008, 02:58 PM
wth is a 'chain holder'? or more importantly.....why?

so when I come flying in for a pit stop to change wheels/tires my pit crew can put the chain on there during the swap . . . makes for faster pit stops because the chain doesn't get caught on swingarm & its closer to the sprocket . . . should improve my pit stop times by 0.1 sec :sneaky :lol

Its just a take off on endurance bike components, just another unique one off piece no one else will have :thumbup

In all reality its about as useful as a Ti kickstand :lol

Actually, I use one so the fuggin chain doesn't interfere with the wheel going on/off. Got sick/tired of the chain falling down while I was trying to get the wheel on. Gilles adjusters make it even worse. :thumbup

This bike has been a charm, sat all winter & fired up on the 1st try, all this on the original battery. Didn't hit any curves to speak of but a couple quick bursts up to nearly 5mph over . . . brought back that big azz grin that had been hidden all winter :sneaky

Couple quick shots of the new Ti D-Rings, swapped to black ano gascap fasteners, and a couple drilled Ti washers, and a couple artsy pics of the canister. In a couple you can see the pearl in the mids pretty good too :yahoo

RC reservoir tubing installed on Rizoma billet reservoirs :sneaky

I had originally contemplated using just the tube & stopper, but decided to keep using the existing Rizoma reservoirs instead. Also found out that the red HRC reservoir tubing I bought is too small ID for the front, so I made due with just the green.
