Well I went on the first ride on my newly purchased '04 R1 today and considering I have not rode since august I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied!!! Never rode an R1 before and I must say this is an awsome bike!! I am looking forward to many good times with this bike! great handleing and power! My only complaint is the pilot race tires it came with never realy got up to temp. on the street! I am going to have to replce them with some pilot powers for the street! Otherwise an excellant ride!:mrgreen

decide what tires you like and go w/ them. "devils advocate" I love my pp's. Get a K&N filter and a power comander next and it will be awesome.

What color? What'd you ride before? Pics? And I heard after market air filters don't do squat for our bikes.

I have been usig PP's for a long time and I really like them! I might check out diablo and the M3's but i have had no prob's with the PP,s! Other bikes have been RC51,TLR,gsxr750,ZX7 russell replica,Gsxr1100,etc. Been ridig 40 yrs. and too many bikes to list! This is my first Yamaha and so far I'm very pleased with it! :biggrin

Congrats! The 04's are awesome, had mines since new and anything over half throttle in the fist 3 gears will get you airborn. Good times to be had on yours, just gotta keep that wrist under control :kicknuts
