am painting a 2002 R1 - removed fuel pump to prep tank & it was a bizzatch to get out...

there's a little sending unit attached to the fuel pump body (probably to signal when gas gets low) that made it difficult to get out - especially since it's such a delicate part

does anybody have experience removing and installing the fuel pump that can offer advice

If you got it out without breaking it you did fine. There is not really a set way that I know of, just care and patience. None of them are easy
