Well, i have a 01 r6. i just picked up a 07 gixxer this year.

since this year suzuki dropped the new body on a busa ill try & pick up a 04-06 busa since everybody is selling them for the new one.

Just a new toy to pump a ton of cash into as a meet cruser.

You going to go with the Honda rather then the Yami? My daughter is not even 2 yet, but she is driving me nuts wanting a motorcycle... :lmao I guess it's a good thing, but I'm thinking at least 5 years old before she gets on one. I like that training wheel through the middle of the bike though.

My head gets all crazy when I think about this subject. I don't have the money to buy a new bike but I would be leaning more towards a supermoto or dual sport. I love BMW's but even used they are crazy expensive. Some day I will own one though. Mark my words! A Duc would be sweet to but only for the track.

Last year I traded my RC car for an 03' KTM 50 for the boy. I got a screaming deal on the trade. He was only 1.5 yrs old so he will have a while to wait, but he has one to ride when he's ready. The beauty of this bike is that the kid really didn't ride it to much cause the father wasn't mechanically inclined enough to keep it running properly. The carbs need to be adjusted and that's it.

I've thought about something like that as well. He's still a relatively new rider, so a used KLR might be better for him. Decisions, decisions...

What's the differences between the R and L? I'd consider the L just because it's already street legal, and then I'd do some mods to open it up like one does with the TT-R's and WR's.

hell yeah...motard baby:moped

No. This will be used on dirt roads, fire trails, and forest roads. I'm planning on riding the Trans American Trail in two years, and many conditions are not designed for 'tards.

Besides, the XR650 doesn't make a good 'tard. If I was going to buy a tard, it's be the WR250x or a Husky.

There is quite a bit of difference. The biggest being that the L is Air cooled and the R is liquid cooled. Aside from that, the R has better suspension, a CR style swingarm (bigger) and completely different frame to the L. They are pretty easy to make road legal here in Michigan, more or less just add blinkers and a horn.

Gotcha. I might have to look into it. Usually, here they don't like to make off road bikes street legal. But, I'll check into it more.

Blinkers aren't a requirement here though.

I wouldn't mind having another bike especially cause i'm one payment away from having the 750 paid for :) BUT Sabrina would like to start learning to ride so that throws a new side to the equation

There's a couple of people where I work that have them. Kind of an interesting ride.

Either the 1198R, the 3 cylinder MV or the next generation MV (the one that will substitute the F4).

But it will take me a while :r1lover:lol

ronin you won't be dissapointed. If you ran the new gix 1k you would be in shock at what it can do. many hate the looks then go for the one you like as they all can outperform nearly all riders...we have an 07 gsxr 1k now and are finishing it up. I'm in shock at what all the 1k's can do though...it's at an insane point

We've been in our house since '95, and no where near finished. Of course, when you go through each room and strip it down to the studs to replace wiring, insulation and windows, it takes a while. :old

2011 is my goal to be completed with the house. The boy will be graduating high school that year, and then we're moving out of the house shortly thereafter.

So, that means it'll be 2010 when I'll be buying my enduros for the Trans American Trail. Although, another friend of mine threw another bike at me for doing the trail: WR450. Just need to know someone who lives in states that let them become street legal pretty easily. :jiggy

How many bikes have you trashed now? Please do us all a favor and do not buy one of those. Save the bike for someone who'd really know how to use it the way it was meant to be. :mock

If you're going to keep trying to stunt, go buy a used 900/954RR or a new CBR600.

Gotta love the internet name calling. Weren't you the one who did a sweeper turn right into a shrub? Truth hurts doesn't it? :kicknuts

How about investing in some track time or an advanced MSF rider's course? Money better spent as it'll increase your abilities to stay on the road, and help keep you safe. ;)
