We were actually paired up with the 46's and 53's at Gillespie. Great working with those guys, but the guys paired up with my crew had some bucket malfunctions and since they didn't have the CDF radios, we all had to break station when they went in for maintenance.

That's our Firehawk. Modded specifically for firefighting with the tank and retractable snorkel. Here's a pic with ours and L.A. County's.

Bad ass. I didn't know the Army was going to swoop that system up too.

Helo community is pretty small.....where are you stationed at? Air Guard?

Funny when Sikorsky called the bird a Firehawk....that was the name of my old squadron, and we flew the HH-60H. Different birds...different missions. ;)

Actually, there's only a few of them out there. The only ones I know about are L.A. County's, ours, and Nevada's. The rest use bambi buckets.

My unit's in Los Alamitos... Army Guard.

Sooo.....you know Chris Shaw?

Used to be in my old unit (HCS-5) years ago. I ended up on his 'all' e-mail list, and got ALL the updates/photos of your unit when you guys went to the desert last year. Good stuff.

We used to work out of los alamitos all the time doing oil plat takedown practice with the teams, and doing approaches when the pilots got bored.

Nice pic bro....:rofl

Guy on the left looks like that dood from "The Office".

We never messed with those intake screens. I know the air ambulance Navy guys down south are using them, but we never did.

I might have to get up to Los Al and go for a bike ride :thumbup
