: HELP, mY R-1 is Gone....
chuy0707 01-10-2008, 06:33 PM Help My R-1 has been stolen. I live here in in Escondido Ca, Yes, these F-rs have nothing to do but want to have something they cant afford but my bike is unique compared to sum of these street bikes here in the San Diego county, unique in the sense that it had custom chrome PM wheels w/ red inserts, G-Raves Exhaust, Red Puig windscreen, Vortex Sprocket, BMC Race Air filter, etc.
So im Asking all the riders here in the San Diego County to help me out if they know anything to contact me. It might sound like a plea for help, but it doesnt hurt to ask for help you know what i mean.
Please HELP,

syncitizen 01-10-2008, 07:33 PM First off sorry to hear about the freakin thieves stealing your shit. I know the pain. I had an 03 R1 stolen a year and a half ago. I spent many many hours searching for my bike. I became so involved with looking for my bike that I ended up helping others searching for their stole rides. My GF and I eventually started a website dedicated to helping in recovering others bikes. Due to personal reasons (gf's m/c accident) the website has been somewhat neglected but will be monitored more closely now. Feel free to post up your bike in there.
www.LostMyRide.com (http://www.LostMyRide.com)
Here are some basic tips:
What I did to help facilitate the recovery of my ride:
A) I printed up tons of flyers and posted them whever I could find a flat spot to tape them too. This included any bike shops, stores, apt complex's. I also handed them to LEO's that worked in any areas that I suspected the thief to live, work, or visit.
1) picture of bike
2) date and location of theft
3) details of bike, including all mods
B) Check online and local papers for parts being sold that could come from your bike.
C) Post in the same publications wanted to buy ads for various parts, to lure the thief.
D) Talk with local bike enthusiasts, someone, somewhere has info or knows someone who does.
E) pray
IMHO the key to recovering your ride is to get the word out to as many people as is possible. The more that know, the harder it is for these lowlifes to keep, hide, sell your ride.
I personally had put in many hours posting, looking, talking to people, sitting on the side of the freeway. I have had witnesses who had seen the bike and even followed it on one occasion. Although I felt like I was closing in, in the end it was the police who stumbled across the bike on accident.
Good luck.

Very cool idea man! :thumbup
Sorry to hear about your loss. Not cool when someone takes something like that. :mad
syncitizen 01-10-2008, 08:07 PM Also monitor and post in things like craigslist or any nifty nickel type paper that might be in your area.
My bike was eventualy recovered at a party the cops busted up. There were 5 bikes at this party and 4 of them were stolen. They all were part of a local stunt group called "trixstarz". So he may want to check out stunt spots in his area. I hate to put the bad rap on stunters but they are a huge part of stolen bike rings here in Vegas. By no means do I put the group down as a whole. As a matter of fact I am friends with Kane and Nick Apex. But there is higher percentage of wanna be stunters that have no talent and just steal bikes, stunt em, wreck em, and steal more.
As you might of noticed I am pretty passionate about this whole subject and will go to almost any length to help fellow riders in the recovery of their bikes.
