Fastest ever YouTube speeder

UK's fastest speeder appears on YouTube

Police are looking for what appears to be the UK's fastest ever speeder, after a video was posted on YouTube showing an indicated 189mph on the A417 in Gloucestershire.

The on board footage of a Kawasaki ZX-10-R has been viewed 8,000 times.

It's the latest video in a series of similiar clips that have prompted Police to raid house, seize computers and spend vast amounts of time and resources on trying to track down the people who make the videos.

Inspector David Collicott, Gloucester Police’s Inspector for Traffic Management and Road Safety, said: "We will be examining the footage on YouTube to try and identify the rider and his associates with a view to bringing them to justice."

I've seen it once on the O2, but it was 4:30 am in the morning with no other car in that particular long straight part of the highway. It won't "indicate" more than 299 kph, but rpm still climbs a bit... :mrgreen

On the O4, almost, just 2 kph below. :crash

I'm with you on that one hey. It just doesn't feel right. But I've never ridden a ZX10R.

Similar to me, but I was 3:30am with no one except me, a mate and three police squad cars. :crash

My feeling is that ZX-10R HAS to be turbocharged. And at low speeds it appears to have a loud/open exhaust similar to a tubro setup. That's my guess anyway.

But that is signifigantly faster than my 0 ZX-10R was.

Hopefully things like that don't happen in the States here. Shows like superbikes surely don't help the community. I'm hoping they don't crack down here like they are starting in cali and as it appears in the uk as well.

I... a friend allegedly once did an indicated 187 on an 03 R1. Between Vegas and a lil town called pahrump (where the legal brothels are). Not a car on the road and m i l e s of straight open roadway.

Ahuh.
That would explain why the acceleration feels all wrong. :thumbup

Although dangerous, there is definitely a difference... I've only done it twice, when I had my 02 R1. That was in the back country of Oklahoma where you could have it pegged for a couple mins, never see a turn or another car/home anything.... :oh

That said, I won't be doing that again anytime soon
