Cam Timing Adjustment

Anyone know how to adjust the cam timing on the YZF 750? Factory Pro recommends 106-108 Intake and 101 Exhaust on the stock cylinder head (with their kit I would assume). I've been what research I can but there is little to no info about the bike. I think they are talking about degreeing the cams just going off the number spec. Any write ups or diys I'm missing here?

hi adrenalin,
firstly can i ask why you would want to adjust it ?
or do you mean how to check if the cams are installed properly
after a rebuild,

if you just want to check if theyre installed properly follow these simple steps:-

1 take off the cam cover

2 take out the sparkplugs

3 put the bike in 6th gear

4 if you are looking at the bike from the front, on the right hand side of the engine will be a timing window,
this will have a flat slot in to undo

5 once you've opened the timing window, turn the back wheel
until the T marker inside lines up with the marker on the casing

6 your engine is now at top dead centre - you will also notice
the exhaust cam lobes are pointing towards the front,
and the inlet lobes are pointing the opposite way.

7 there are 4 blocks bolting bown the camshaft holding it in place,
the block on cylinder number 3 (this is the one to the left of the cam sprocket in the cenre of the engine)
there will be a line marker on the block near the sprocket, the sprocket will also have a dot punched into it, these markers should be lined up for both the inlet and exhaust cams.

once this is all checked, make urself a nice cup of tea
and sit and look at your bike, talking to it like i do

Im also interested in cam timing, as i have YEC kit ignition which reccomends changing the opening times etc.

Yeah I'm not really interested in checking to see if its correct but good write up none the less. I want to know how to adjust to the factory pro numbers so when I get their kit I can make the most power. . .
