08 yamaha royal star tour deluxe exhaust

What is best slip on exhaust muffler for 08 royal star tour deluxe? Baron, Nasty Boy or Slash, Bub, other. Considering fitment, sound (wrap baffles), jetting, bluing. Thanks to any and all.

i have just fitted Nasty Boys to my 07 TD they sound awesome, look good, easy to fit took 1 and a half hours but they do pop quite abit on slowing down.
So tomorrow it goes in to the dyno shop for Rejetting etc so hopefully that will sort that out. a few shops have said if the mixture is not right it will drink a lot more fuel so thats why i'm taking it to the dyno less trial and error should be right first time.
I will post again when I get it back

Thanks for reply, Is the head pipe connection covered by a heat shield or does the clamp show? Did you wrap the head pipe connection with exhaust tape or did the slip on make a secure fit? I have an aftermarket sound system, is the exhaust too loud? Thanks again

No its not covered but if you put the clamp on in the right position it looks fine, yes you do need to use tape as the fit is not really tight.
It is quite noisy on hard acceleration but i think the sound is perfect (neighbours not quite so sure about it though) I am just waiting for someone i trust to ride it so i can hear how it sounds as they ride away from me. with the sound system the exhaust may be too loud at times but not really sure as I'm not too familiar how well sound systems work.
With the nasty boys you can wrap more fibreglass to quieten them down but I have not tried this.
I've had the bike done on the dyno now, it still pops a bit when its cold but clears up when it's warmed up.
If you look on youtube for barons nasty boys there is a video by stratocurtster which gives you an idea how they sound.
I hope this helps cheers.

I have been told by the Yamaha dealer that if you put slip ons on your bike you do not have to have it dynoed? Is that true? He said only if you change the whole system I have an 08 royal star deluxe I would like to put slip ons on?
